We gather every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for a worship experience that bridges the richness of tradition with creative expressions of faith. At St. John UCC, we honor the rhythms of the liturgical year while offering a worship service that feels alive, meaningful, and welcoming to all.
Our music ranges from the soaring notes of our pipe organ and choir to piano accompaniment and an occasional variety of other instruments, adding depth and vibrancy to our services. Our hymns span generations, reflecting both timeless faith and inclusive values.
Preaching at St. John seeks to inspire, challenge, and comfort. Whether through thoughtful reflection, compassionate insight, or a touch of humor, our sermons connect scripture to everyday life and the spiritual journey.
Our worship experience is designed to engage all the senses, drawing us into a deeper connection with the sacred through sight, sound, and touch. Drawing from the Revised Common Lectionary and other sources, we explore creative worship designs, incorporating special observances such as Mesa Blanca for All Saints’ Day and unique rituals during Advent, Lent, and other sacred seasons.
At St. John, communion is not just a ritual—it’s a celebration of Christ’s radical hospitality. We celebrate and participate in the holy sacrament weekly. All are welcome at the table, reflecting our belief in the boundless grace of God.
Join us for worship this Sunday. Whether you’re seeking a connection to tradition or looking for a community that embraces creativity and inclusivity, you’ll find a place here.
We believe in the healing powers of fellowship, but we also take the health and safety of our members seriously. At this time, Church services are offered both in-person and online. While masks are not required, we respect each family's decision and encourage treating our neighbors well.
Join us at in person 637 E Market Street every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM.
We also livestream our full service every Sunday on Facebook (St. John UCC Nulu).
Our services are uploaded to YouTube later the same day. (St. John UCC Nulu)
Sunday School
Our Sunday School program is currently on pause. Children are encouraged to stay through the full service in the sanctuary with their parents. Individual activity kits are available for young children at the back of the sanctuary.
Music
Our choir leads the congregation in hymns each week. We strive to make the music meaningful, spiritual, and accessible. Music is accompanied by piano or organ each week, and often includes additional instrumentalists.
Communion
We participate in Communion each week. Pre-packaged elements are available at the doors to the sanctuary for each service.
We practice open communion, welcoming all who intend to lead a Christian life to participate fully. Parents or guardians may decide when is the appropriate age for children to commune. Our open table welcomes all, and the sacraments are treated with the respect due to those holding a belief in Transubstantiation.
